About The Venue
The Delhi University Stadium is a Rugby Sevens stadium located within the North Campus of the University of Delhi. Spread across 10,000 square metres (110,000 sq. ft.), the stadium has a seating capacity of 2,500 permanent seats along with 7,500 temporary seats.
Construction of the stadium began in 2008, and it was officially inaugurated in July 2010, ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The facility also includes dedicated training areas for Netball, Boxing, Women’s Wrestling, and Athletics.
The stadium serves as the headquarters of the Delhi University Sports Council and also houses several academic institutions of the University of Delhi, including the Cluster Innovation Centre and the Delhi School.
